Iโm so sorry about that and I was not ignoring your comments or deleting them ๐ญ Also I have no idea why youโre getting multiple emails from wordpress I JUST WRITE POSTS I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WEBSITES. again, apologies and sorry about slow comments. Juliet once AGAIN GOT ME SICK and Iโve been so so tired from antibiotics and whatnot.
okay, sorry once again haha.
I think we all know the story of Frankenstein.
He is literally what legends are made of. A staple in all of our horror stories. One of the original man made monsters in history.
Victor Frankenstein has created a monster. Obsessed with discovering the cause of life and reanimating a lifeless creature he has done the impossible. He creates a human being from the bits and pieces of stolen human body parts but upon seeing the monster he has created he recoils at the sight of it. But the creature is more human than he realizes and it flees and it turns to evil in a streak of vengeance and hatred. Murder is on its mind and so is revenge. Frankenstein’s monster is not a beast to be trifled with.

I am shocked at how much I enjoyed this read and how long it took me to read it
Look, this October I took myself aside and said look Amanda, this year has been shit. You had some bad break ups, you feel like hell, but you gotta do you girl, you gotta try to gain some of that happiness for yourself. You know October is your month and you’ve got to take it.
So Amanda responded back, boss bitch Amanda you right, you right. So I read Frankenstein and LOVED IT. Tried to read Dracula
…Okay, moving on.
Read Sleepy Hollow.
….
SO BACK TO FRANKENSTEIN.
THREE WORDS
METAL. AS. FUCK.
That’s my review on Goodreads for now until I change it.
Because yes, this book was METAL AS FUCK. I was not expecting the blood and the carnage to come from Frankenstein but oh my god. BLOOD AND CARNAGE DID WE GET. Yeah, yeah we can dive deeper with metaphors and the like but…this monstyer went around MURDERING because he was fucking hurt and would NOT STOP.
Uh, these might be spoilers but this book is hundreds of years old so…
Mary Shelley, you are a Goddess of Horror. The writing is beautiful and simplistic. It’s not so overwrought where you can’t understand what the hell is going on which I hate sometimes in classics. Listen, I love flowery prose and all but sometimes I just want to read a book and understand what’s going on AT ONCE.
To me this was a love story dyed in blood. A journey across seas. A quest for a zombified beast pieced together by science and a dash of alchemy.
The fact that Mary Shelley was 19 freaking years old when she wrote this amazes and delights me.
I know I’m probably missing so much more in the plot so please feel free to let me know in the comments. In the end I felt bad for both Victor and Frankenstein. It’s the losses of both that gets me. Isn’t loss the greatest tragedy that keeps replaying again and again in history?

๐๐๐๐ 4/5
I still need to read this one! Maybe it will be my only spooky read I get to this year, lol.
