Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes!! I had a great birthday and I’m really looking forward to this decade of fun and enjoying myself. It’s off to a great start.
So much thanks to @Emer for making a birthday post for me!! I was not expecting that at all and it actually made me cry reading it this morning. Thank you Emer.
So today I’m doing another Bookending Autumn post.
Clo (Book Dragons) and https://fictionallysam.com created Bookend Events where every quarter of the year they bring the bookish community a new event to bring us closer together and meet new blogs and friends!
This is actually Monday’s post but I’m doing it today lol. The prompt today is brought to you by:
Fill a haunted house with all your scariest monsters. Who …or what …would be in it?
Oh, this is going to be fun.
Step into my humble abode.. Let’s get to know one another. Get litty as the kids say.
Welcome…to House on Haunted Panda
*door creaks open and a pair of eyes stare out at you in the gloom*
Oh, hello there! Welcome to House Panda. Today’s prompt is haunted house full of your scariest monsters. I’m Amanda your guide, your host, your one and only and I’m here to give you a tour of the lovely house. Please stick with me. We wouldn’t want you to get lost, now would we?
Wait…Do you hear that???
Ah, that must be one of the creatures stirring now. Tell me visitor. Have you ever heard of the

…It looks like she’s leaving. Probably going to settle in the basement or nest in the graveyard. Quiet, before she comes back.
So what brings you here? Oh, family? In these parts? Lucky. Oh, Hello, Babadook. It’s nice to see you so late in the day. Pleased to meet your aquaintance with the Babadook.
Please say hello to the Babadook. It will not harm you, it will just sadden you until the end of time.
A tall pale-faced humanoid in a top hat with taloned fingers who torments its victims after they become aware of its existence.
Oh, where are you going ‘Dook? To the kitchen? Okay, well dinner’s not ready yet and I’m not.
…Well, whatever. *mutters to self* this house is a mess and this tour is a failure. Would you like to go out to the gardens? The flowers are lovely this time of the year. Oh and we have the most lovely lilies Come, come let’s see.
Oh, god what is it now. Why. Why is she here. I would advise you to close your ears. She sings the most dreadful of- Hello, Madam Siren. How are you today?
She’s enchanting isn’t she…Even though she’s technically trespassing.
In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.
*Takes your hand and drags you back inside cursing*
God, I am so tired of this shit. So, sorry about that.Truly, no idea what she’s doing here. Thought we had installed the child gates and everything but…
Do…do you hear that?
That croaking sound? That…that rattling sound? Pardon me but may I ask you for the time?
WHAT? It…It can’t be. No, no. It’s not that late already. Surely not. Look, you have to go.
No, no. I’m serious. You HAVE to go. Listen. Just head right down that doorway and turn left and the door should be open. Now please! Just go. Please. Oh… oh my god.
Kayako Saeki is a character in the Ju-on horror franchise aka The Grudge.
Kayako chases you for awhile. Through the gardens, past the wailing siren, around the muttering Babadook, ahead of the searching Wendigo.
The twitching woman catches sight of her reflection in the main entrance mirror and wails. Her body jerks to and fro.
The hostess appears once more with a sigh.
“Goodbye. I’m sorry your visit was so…chaotic.” She curtsies and your last look before the door closes into blackness are those gleaming eyes once more.
You make it out of the house safely and trek through the woods. You can hear a scream in the distance coming from the direction of the house.
Finally you reach the graveyard and the cemetery comes alive as you walk through its gates. At last, this is where your true destination has been all along. You came all this way to visit family and yet you don’t have flowers or a teddy to adorn their graves with. Instead you simply have tales of your travels and adventures to amuse them for hours.
Thank you for joining me on this fun prompt!! This was so much fun to photoshop and write. Big big thanks to my friends for lending me their faces.
