Series of the Week: Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

We all know some punk ass kid we would gladly take down for being a know it all snot.

I have over 50 cousins…I have more than a few to tackle.

Before you all start yelling at me…YOU KNOW I’M RIGHT.

Artemis Fowl II is that punk ass kid. Wickedly smart, ridiculously rich. He’s the titular character of our series of the week and we love to hate the snide 12 year old genius. Yes, we do.

This is a young adult fantasy based around what happens when you interfere with the fairy world. Why would you do that? To be honest I can’t remember because it’s been ages since I’ve last read this lmfaooo. But pretty sure it’s because Artemis is a little snot and wants their gold.

The fairy world has never encountered a human like him before so they’re all like

TF IS THIS

We are introduced to some really cool characters. There’s Holly, an elf a female captain in the underground fairy world. Butler, Artemis’s huge bodyguard. Juliet (BEAUTIFUL NAME BTW) Butler’s sister who was trained by her brother himself and is an excellent marksman. Opal, a crazed pixie. Foaly, a centaur genius.

There are 8 books but sadly I haven’t read all 8 and I need to. I need to do a massive reread. It’s been way too long and I loved these books as a kid. They’re really fun, intricate, and different. It’s a nice fantasy ride and even though Artemis GRATES at times you see him evolve as a character. There are so many hilarious points as well and you learn so much along the way.

Thanks for joining me for another series of the week! Have a great Friday guys!
