Hello, my loves! It’s Monday…AGAIN. Aren’t we all so excited? Lmao. I’m in the middle of reading a book so I don’t have a review for you guys yet but what I do have is a book meme! This meme gets all credit from @Lauren’s Page Turners .
Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme hosted here. To participate, choose a random book from your TBR and show it off. Don’t forget to link back here and feel free to add your links to the comments so that others can see what you picked.
I used another randomizer because I’m indescive! My pick this week is:
Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly
Isabelle should be blissfully happy – she’s about to win the handsome prince. Except Isabelle isn’t the beautiful girl who lost the glass slipper and captured the prince’s heart. She’s the ugly stepsister who’s cut off her toes to fit into Cinderella’s shoe … which is now filling with blood.
When the prince discovers Isabelle’s deception, she is turned away in shame. It’s no more than she deserves: she is a plain girl in a world that values beauty; a feisty girl in a world that wants her to be pliant.
Why I Want to Read It
So, I love Cinderella. She’s my favorite Disney princess and everything. Always has been. I also love The Brothers Grimm version of Cinderella and this book really seems to reflect this. I like how the main character isn’t Cinderella but rather one of the evil stepsisters. It’s interesting and dark and I need this in my brainspace like now.
Why I’ve Yet to Read It
Because life is a lot and books are piling up lmao. I am trying to get through my ARCs and I feel as though a reading slump is coming and I’m so meh about it. I really do want to read this asap however. It seems like my perfect kind of book. Click here to add it to your own TBR.
Besides all of this yesterday I took myself to the library and picked out some more books! I haven’t been in a bit and didn’t write down what I wanted so I sort of just wandered for awhile picking up things I’ve seen around or that looked good. Pretty good haul.
So what on your TBR are you dying to read? Let me know in the comments!
